Self Edge Interview on Freshnessmag

Post by // Michael

I really enjoyed this Interview on the self edge owners by the guys at freshnessmag . Self Edge is a store in New York that specializes in raw denim. Its got a lot of great insight regarding raw denim and the market in japan and america. Excellent questions and answers on why raw denim is so popular in Japan and why they produce the best denim on the market. Definitely worth the read so click over to freshnessmag here

Chad Waldron for Gary Pepper Vintage

Post by // Michael

Chad Waldron really managed to do a wonderful job on this lookbook for the vintage store, Gary Pepper Vintage. Ever since getting the 7D im addicted to getting ideas from other SLR videographers. I really like the aesthetics in this video and could learn a couple things from his editing. Take a look for yourself.

Another Magazine

Post by // Susan

I really enjoy Another Magazine’s new concept: digital cover star. Every once in a while they choose someone new to portray. So far Charlotte Gainsbourg and Margherita Maccapani Missoni have been their ‘stars’. It’s a nice way to glimpse into the life of interesting people. I preferred the coverage on Gainsbourg because of the short film, which can be viewed here.

Ecole Studio Website

This is minimalism at its best. Lots of small details that make the site great. Love how the mouse over changes the pictures from black/white to color.

no promise of safety

Post by // Michael

I had heard about a select few that consider exploring remote urban environments a hobby. Guys that search out places in cities that are deserted (metro stations, old factories, bridges, etc) and photograph the environments or do other crazy things just for kicks.
Which is why I spent quite some time on the nopromiseofsafety site learning more about these urban explorers.
The blog gathers a collection of stories and (great) pictures of different people and the places they have discovered. Definitely a great read and it makes me want to go out and pop a manhole or two. Cant imagine the rush…

Up there

Post by // Michael

Steven posted this small documentary this morning. The documentary itself is really well made and the subject matter is interesting. For some reason its pretty sad when a craft dies due to technology being cheaper and faster. But the process these guys go through to put up their works of art is really inspirational. I especially liked the part about their mentors and how the craft was passed on.

busy busy busy

Post by // Susan

I have had so much to do these last couple of days, that when I come home, the last thing I’m in the mood for is to sit in front of the computer… Last week all I did when I got home was make some tea, listen to some music and read (a lot)… Today, I finally had a little time for myself and while searching the web I came across Queen’s Wardrobe... Its an online store for the ladies, and has a lot of cute everyday clothing.

inspiration video

Post by // Michael

Heres the first 2000 pictures from the inspiration squeezed, stretched an compressed into a video. Difficult to catch the frames but alot of fun to play anyways. Didnt put music to this so you could pick your own. Or play the track I embedded below. All Along the Watchtower by Jimi.

Congratulations, you just looked through about 30 pages of the inspiration in 4 minutes!
