This past week while sailing the adriatic (post coming soon) david introduced me to an amazing track called “Take My Breath Away” by Gui Boratto. Something about the freedom of being out on a yacht in perfect weather made this track so appealing. It was on repeat all week! I dont think I have ever listened to a track that you can chill out as well as dance too. Im a big fan of Kalkbrenner and they definitely have a similar vibe in their music.

Sometimes a song just resonates cause when you listen to it, its like it was written as a soundtrack to your life at that moment. A friend posted it on facebook today and its been on repeat since then. Just straight up beautiful music from Anthony Hamilton from the American Gangster soundtrack.

Revisiting 1993

I just discovered William Fitzsimmons yesterday. what a spectacular singer/songwriter! Through searching a little I found this gem. Its a remix by Pink Ganter. Cant stop playing this song. See if it has the same effect on you. And be sure to check out his other albums if you are in need of some chill music to accompany you for the remainder of summer.

Chiddy Bang really rocked Exil yesterday. They didnt waste anytime getting the crowd hyped into their 45 minute set. At one point the dreaded word “freestyle” came up and I thought “oh no, not another rapper that claims they can freestyle.” The following words where chosen from the crowd; Switzerland, Titty Bars, Spice Girls, Fondue, Arizona and Kellogs.

I don’t know anything about iamamiwhoami, but she has really interesting music videos and got popular through them on YouTube. I like this video, its really dreamy and was most probably inspired by where the wild things are. Must have been a fun experience filming and running around naked in the forest. Watch it here

After a small break regular posting can commence. During my week away the weather finally decided to get better. The beautiful summer weather had the following soundtrack all week. I dont know what Vanessa de Mata is singing here but damn this is a perfect summer song. The track is off her album, “Sim”. Enjoy!

I didn’t know, but Dr.Martens is already 50 years old. To celebrate being fifty, they asked ten artists: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Buraka Som Sistema, DāM-FunK, Michael Davis of MC5 & D.O.A, N.A.S.A, Noisettes, The Cinematic Orchestra, The Duke Spirit, The Raveonettes, VERBAL + YOON to cover a cult classic record made by someone that embodied the Dr.Martens spirit (and wore them of course).
